The Illinois State Police Safety Education Tent is located on Midway Drive (south) across the street from the Second Heat Building. Fairgoers with children are encouraged to stop by to obtain a free child ID armband. If a child becomes separated from their parents/caregivers, having an ID armband will enable Troopers to contact the parents/caregivers more quickly.

The carnival also has a Customer Service booth that a lost child/person can be reported to.

Lost-and-found items should be turned into the Central Cash office, located inside the Grandstand between the hours of 8 am – 4:00 pm daily. After these hours, items can be turned in at the Illinois State Police Safety Education Tent or to any State Trooper on grounds.
